This idea came from a client:
A lot of our clients focus on gift finders or experiences leading to a product recommendation and I think having the ability to send the outcomes onto a loved one or a friend with a personalised message would really help our clients with data capture and revenue.
We gave them the suggestion of device share but this only shares the full experience and not the outcome. We also suggested triggering an email but came across some limitations (stated by customer below)
In particular: • Limited message customisation:
The sender can’t edit the message, meaning the hint would rely on a fixed template. This may not deliver the intended experience, as ideally the sender could add context, e.g.: whether the item is intended as a birthday gift or a Father’s Day recommendation. A generic message such as ‘Your loved one would like to share this with you’ may feel too vague and not convey the desired intent. • Lack of sender details:
There’s no option to include information about who is sending the hint. As a result, it is likely that a recipient will see this message as spam, especially when combined with a generic message format like ‘Your loved one…’.
This is a similar example of what the client is referring to.
